NshoNam Director of Operations, Samuel Danso, has attended the launch of the Safe Fish Certification and Licensing Scheme (SFCLS) at the invitation of the Ghanaian Fisheries Recovery Activity (a five-year program funded by USAID).

The SFCLS aims to enhance food safety, hygiene and quality in the post-harvest value chain and also seeks to support market access and income sustainability for fish processors and traders in the sector.

Speakers and representatives from the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Health and Trade & Industry, the Fisheries Commission, Food and Drugs Authority, Ghanaian Standards Authority and the National Fish Processors and Traders Association (NAFPTA) were all in attendance at the event held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

NshoNam has been working with the implementation team at the GFRA and members of the NAFPTA to develop the route to market for produce targeted by the scheme. A relationship we hope to deepen in the months and years to come.
